At Shear Pointe, we proudly support Children with Hair Loss & Wigs 4 Kids. These two programs are dedicated to providing children facing hair loss with free wigs. They give them more than just hair, they help children regain confidence, comfort, and hope.

Hair loss at a young age can be especially difficult, not only physically but also emotionally, and these programs help children feel like themselves again while easing the challenges of self-image and social confidence.

By contributing to these initiatives, Shear Pointe helps ensure that children and their families know they are not alone, and that there are resources available to restore both appearance and spirit.

Children with Hair Loss

Children With Hair Loss (CWHL) is a nonprofit organization that started over 25 years ago, by their founder Regina Villemure. They are devoted to helping children and young adults who are experiencing medically related hair loss by supplying them with human hair replacement wigs and full care kits at no cost.

Their services extend beyond merely providing wigs, they support the emotional and psychological well-being of recipients. They recognize that losing one’s hair due to cancer treatment, alopecia, burns, trichotillomania, or other medical causes can have deep, lasting personal impacts.

They coordinate with salon and barber partners, accepts hair donations, sponsors children, and maintains a roster of qualified stylists nationwide to assist with styling and fitting.

Maggie’s Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan

Wigs4Kids (Maggie’s Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan) is an organization dedicated to supporting children typically between the ages of 3 to 18 years of age who are experiencing medical or illness-related hair loss by providing free hair replacement systems, styling services, and emotional support.

Beyond simply supplying wigs, Maggie’s Wigs4Kids operates a Wellness Center that offers holistic programming addressing the psychological, social, and physical challenges of hair loss.

Their services include therapy (art, music, drama), self-empowerment and yoga classes, academic support, and resources designed to help children rebuild their confidence and sense of identity.
